Last Wednesday we had an excellent field trip to Saguaro National Park. The rangers and volunteers shared a great deal of information and let us experience many activities. Thank you to Mr. Paul, Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. Mourreale, Mrs. Fowler, Mr. Wilson, Mr. Pierce, and Mr. Sasselli for assisting with the field trip.
The third quarter of this school year went by very fast! Friday is the last day of the quarter and a teacher grading day. The students will have a vacation!
We have started the Family Life curriculum and will complete the final lesson on Thursday. Please return the permission form for the final lesson so I can follow your wishes as to whether or not your child participates.
Tuesday evening is Skate Country Night from 6:00 to 8:00. I would like to invite the class to come and enjoy an evening of skating with their friends.
On Wednesday we will switch to unit 8 on multiplication and division. We need to master those two operations before our AIMS test. After AIMS we will return to three dimensional geometry and complete the unit. I would like to recommend using the vmath live website to help the students comprehend math concepts.
Did you hear Soleng Tom received new computers? We are extremely excited to use the new computers in the lab and to have enough working computers for each student to have their own. Plus we have three new computers for the students to use in the classroom.
We have started the character sketch writing project with the students describing their looks in one paragraph and personality in another. Next the kids will write about their hobbies, favorite places, important people in their life and goals. I will be asking for your help with editing as the project progresses.
