Thank you for the terrific response for the multiplication ice cream celebration. By Tuesday we had nine families willing to bring Oreos - it was obvious to me that I needed a more efficient method of signing up. Terease Martin to the rescue! She set us up in Sign Up Genius and you probably received an email to help donate. The items you already donated were taken off the list or I put your name by the item. Thank you for being so generous and Terease for organizing us.
Monday morning from 9:00 to 9:30 our school will have a soft lock down drill. That means the exterior doors will be locked because something potentially dangerous is happening in the neighborhood. We carry on our work as usual inside the building. Please be aware that no one will be allowed to leave or enter the building during that half hour window.
Our class has earned 50 points and voted to have an electronic day. Mr. Dotson granted us permission to have it this Thursday. A permission form to bring electronics to school will go home in Monday's Dragon Folder. Thursday will be so exciting with Pajama Day, technology day and the ice cream celebration!
Student council has organized a spirit week for our school to enjoy. A list of the days is below. I hope everyone participates in the spirit week.
The kids were very excited about their biography timeline last Friday. I'm thrilled to see them so pleased with a project they completed. We only had time for seven presentations so far. The kids have a vast amount of knowledge to share. We will continue sharing the time lines next week until everyone has an opportunity.
Our language arts time will be devoted to sharing biography time lines, reading our science reader Electrical Circuits and writing a flip chart about electricity as they read the book. We also want to finish reading The Lightning Thief! We will not have spelling or vocabulary words this week.
Wow! We already covered a lot of concepts in our fraction unit. I am impressed with how well the kids are grasping the concepts. Please continue to review the homework with your son or daughter.
